  • A common misconception is that motivation and discipline are byproducts of mindset when they’re actually directly connected to the nervous system. Operating from the SNS looks like anxiously rushing through life, constantly anticipating danger, making decisions from fear, ruminating over past mistakes, or being shut down from overwhelm. Motivation requires capacity and our system requires safety to engage in possibility. No amount of thought work can replace this experience in the body.
