Highlights:

  1. Goals are a crucial part of the process because they get us in the game and provide direction. If our goals are meaningful and exciting to us, they provide a target that motivates us to push past discomfort, and challenge old patterns that may be keeping us stuck in other aspects of our lives as well. 

  2. Goals are always pursued within a context. If you disregard the context, you inadvertently isolate parts of yourself, which leaves you with only partial capacity.

  3. The skills you master and the parts of yourself that you integrate while pursuing a goal (the microcosm) can positively affect the whole of the rest of your life (the macrocosm) if you learn how to direct your attention to it and use the skills that we’ll learn here to influence both.
